Special Advertising Section Episcopal Church Home Cares for Body, Mind and Spirit The Episcopal Church Home has been in operation for 132 years and is affiliated with the Episcopal Diocese of Kentucky. Founded through the efforts and philanthropy of John P. Morton, it is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for adults through a supportive, Christian community. The Episcopal Church Home offers many levels of care, encouraging people to maintain their independence. The ability to age in place can begin in Dudley Square's patio homes with additional options in memory care, personal care, in and out-patient rehabilitation services, skilled nursing and end of life care. The Rehab-to-Home Program at The Episcopal Church Home is uniquely designed to each participant. The therapy team learns about the individual's life and routine and develops a plan of therapy to support what that person needs to successfully return to the living environment of their choice. The nursing team works with the participant to provide education on health issues which will be important for managing medical needs. A home assessment is completed early in a rehab participant's stay and necessary changes to the home environment can be planned and accomplished before the rehab participant returns home. Residents, families and members of the community enjoy St. Luke's Chapel which is part of The Episcopal Church Home and has a specially-designed, fully-accessible sanctuary. St. Luke's Chapel is open to persons of all faith traditions and the spiritual needs of the residents drove its unique design. The Episcopal Church Home intentionally incorporates dogs, cats, bird aviaries and large fish tanks throughout the building. There is a courtyard with rabbits and turtles. Another courtyard has fresh herbs, vegetable plants and flowers. A playground will be installed in late spring in a courtyard for all generations to enjoy. Though excellent care and services are guaranteed in comfortable, secure surroundings at the Episcopal Church Home, what sets it apart is love. Those who call this special place home are cared for in body, mind and spirit, and the staff is dedicated to offering a comfortable and meaningful life to all — no matter where they are on their life's journey. The Episcopal Church Home is located at 7504 Westport Road, near the corner of Lyndon Lane, in eastern Metro Louisville, one minute from the Westport Road exit off the Watterson Expressway.
